KUALA LUMPUR, 5 APRIL, 2012: Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) central committee member, Zulkarnain Abdullah today challenged 221 members of parliament to declare their assets to the public as a way to prove that no public money has gone into their hands.

zulkarnain“I dare those 221 MPs who are sitting in there (Dewan Rakyat) to declare their assets.

“This is a noble way to show an MP’s sincerity towards their supporters and all Malaysians.

“It shows courage for the MP to come forward and disclose their assets by telling people that they have no hidden agenda behind the positions they hold,” said Zulkarnain.

Zulkarnain (left) was met during the declaring of assets ceremony organized by Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM at the Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH).

“They all need to be encouraged to do it. This will help the government to be more transparent and accountable,” said Rohana.

She also said that the people are actually not concerned on the politicians’ wealth but only care for where the public funds went after it has been given to the MPs.

“We are all aware that some of the MPs Are rich before they run the public office and there is nothing wrong with this. Everyone is entitled to their own wealth,” said Rohana.

“Our primary concern is where the public money went,” she added.
